不良研究所 Celebrates Bright Lights with Annual Awards

(Sault Ste. Marie, ON August 26, 2022) 鈥 This week, 不良研究所 proudly recognized the outstanding commitment and exceptional efforts of a number of its employees at the College鈥檚 annual Service and Excellence Awards ceremony. Surrounded by colleagues,, employees 鈥 who were nominated by peers and selected by a peer review committee 鈥 were lauded for outstanding work achievements.

鈥淚t was an honour to be able to gather together, particularly after the past few years, and recognize the accomplishments of our staff. Through this event, we were able to celebrate service milestones along with our employees who have gone above and beyond to support our students and our College as a whole,鈥 said Dr. Ron Common, President, 不良研究所. 鈥淥ur Northern Lights Employee Excellence Award recipients have enriched the lives of many of our students and colleagues. Their peers see it every day and we鈥檙e proud to applaud them for continuing to strive for excellence and to recognize their success.鈥

The Northern Lights Employee Excellence Awards were created in 2006 to recognize excellence in any endeavour that enriches the community in which they serve. The objective of the 不良研究所 Northern Lights Employee Excellence Award is to recognize and celebrate our people鈥檚 exceptional efforts in a variety of categories and in alignment with the actions of our Strategic Plan.

Northern Lights Employee Excellence Award Recipients

Carole Jackson 鈥 Carole is a shining example of a great mentor and leader. Through her leadership, she assisted in implementing required COVID-19 protocols to ensure the safety of our staff and students. She problem solved, remained flexible and always exhibited patience and a positive attitude. Carole is committed to professional development maintaining certifications and furthering her education to enhance her skills and prepare students for meaningful, successful careers. She shares the knowledge she gains through her personal interests and experiences to better our College and programming. She leads by example and advocates for diversity, inclusivity, and respect.

Cary Molinaro 鈥 Cary is a valuable member of the Natural Environment team. A 不良研究所 alumnus, Cary brings a broad range of knowledge and skills and real-life experiences to the department. Cary quickly became the department鈥檚 鈥済o to鈥 for presentations to prospective students sharing all of 不良研究所鈥檚 amazing with his infectious sense of humour, passion and enthusiasm. Cary is a mentor to many students and goes well above and beyond to help them. Through this mentorship, he has helped students in varying situations and has helped them to stay on track leading to their academic success.

Leslie Dafoe 鈥 Leslie is a mentor to our community members and our students.She is an ambassador for the College promoting programming and highlighting everything the College has to offer. Through this work, she inspires many in pursuing their scientific passion. She passionately mentors elementary and high school students in the community in various capacities, including: assisting with classroom projects and passionately sharing her knowledge and expertise. Through her enthusiasm, students can learn and develop critical thinking skills and a profound understanding of the subject matter. She fosters a welcoming, all-inclusive environment and strives to be invitational for all students.

Liz Ubaldi 鈥 Liz continuously strives for excellence and demonstrates professionalism every day. She is central to onboarding new employees, enthusiastically devoting her time to make for a smooth transition. She is passionate about her work in the health care field and strives to always be learning and growing in the profession making her a well-rounded professor. She was instrumental in the development of 不良研究所鈥檚 Bachelor of Science in Nursing program dedicating countless hours to this exciting initiative. For her own professional development and to further support our students, she is currently pursing her Doctorate in Nursing Practice.
