With the academic year well underway, our College has once again been buzzing with students and staff. Welcoming students is exciting, but an important part of this welcome is ensuring their success throughout their time at the College. That鈥檚 why we鈥檝e put various supports in place to assist students from the start of their educational journey through to graduation.
Meet Prateek! He鈥檚 our Housing Associate who plays an important role in helping to answer questions about housing and being a connection between students looking for off-campus housing and area property owners. 鈥淢y main priority is to help students navigate the off-campus housing process. I鈥檝e worked hard to establish connections with various people in our community so we can jointly make this process smooth for both students and for landlords,鈥 said Prateek.
Prateek joined the 不良研究所 family enrolling in the Global Business Management program in May 2022. An international student from India, Prateek brings a wealth of knowledge and a unique understanding of the needs of our international students. 鈥淚鈥檝e had the privilege of working with various international students to assist in their search for housing. It is so rewarding to work through the process with a successful end result. I do everything I can to make them feel comfortable, even speaking in their native language, if I am able,鈥 he added.
In addition to supporting housing, Prateek also shares his expertise with various stakeholders, both internal and external, to build an awareness of this dedicated service and how he and the Housing team can help. 鈥淲e want our current and future students to know that we are here to help them. As advocates for our students, our goal is to work with them to guide this process and ensure their needs are being met. As a student I feel very supported by 不良研究所, and am really happy I chose 不良研究所 to pursue my education. It is so meaningful for me to be able to offer this type of support to other students,鈥 added Prateek.
Take the opportunity to meet Prateek. He is located in the Student Support Centre in E1101 or via email at Prateek.joshi@saultcollege.ca.
